DuPage County and DuPage Foundation are dedicating nearly $400,000 to DuPagePads to provide housing for residents throughout the cold, winter months.

In December, DuPagePads President and CEO April Redzic approached the County for assistance after DuPagePads’ Interim Housing Center had reached capacity, with the waiting list growing to three times its typical length. DuPagePads sought funding to provide shelter through the winter.

The DuPage County Board allocated $200,000 from the County's affordable housing fund to assist DuPagePads. Chair Conroy asked for assistance from DuPage Foundation, which contributed $190,000 in combined support from its Emergency Fund, donors, fund holders, and network of area funding partners. The DuPagePads Board also provided $150,000 to the cause.
